Curtis' work in steel sculpture is influenced by his experience translating calligraphy into a three-dimensional form and by the neo-futurist Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, whose Turning Torso building is in Malmo, Sweden.

Audeamus (public collection) and The Kiss, consist of two distorted rhomboid prisms twisted around a center point.

At 8.5-feet tall, The Kiss brings the two stainless steel columns to a romantic meeting point.
